Robin Beery

Robin Beery

Robin Beery is Executive Vice President, Head of U.S. Distribution and is a member of Janus’ Executive Committee. Ms. Beery also serves as a member of the Janus Capital Group Executive Advisory Board. In addition, she serves as President of the Funds acting as the business liaison between Janus and the fund trustees, and is a member of the board of directors of INTECH and Perkins Investment Management LLC. Ms. Beery joined Janus in August 1994 and has held a variety of leadership positions within the marketing and distribution organizations, including overseeing the firm’s retail business. Ms. Beery currently oversees Janus’ U.S. distribution business, including sales, client service and consultant relations for the intermediary and institutional channels, as well as marketing and brand strategy and product innovation. Prior to joining Janus, Ms. Beery worked in the distribution organizations at Chicago-based Kemper Financial and American Century in Kansas City. Ms. Beery received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Kansas and has 20 years of financial industry experience.

 

John Cozzi

John Cozzi

John Cozzi joined AEA Investors in 2003. He is co-head of the AEA Small Business Fund, which invests in companies with less than $150 million in enterprise value in AEA’s areas of strategic focus: value-added industrials, specialty chemicals, consumer products, and business services. In addition, he serves on the board of ITT Educational Services, Inc. (NYSE: ESI). Before joining AEA, Mr. Cozzi was a Managing Director at Arena Capital Partners, a private equity firm that invests in small companies in the consumer and business services sectors. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the leveraged finance group of Credit Suisse First Boston (“CSFB”) and led the development of CSFB’s education industry practice. Prior to joining CSFB, Mr. Cozzi was at Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co., and NYNEX Corp. Mr. Cozzi received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in economics and computer science from Union College with honors.

C. Thomas Howard, PhD

C. Thomas Howard, PhD is co-founder of AthenaInvest, a Greenwood Village-based SEC Registered Investment Advisor. Dr. Howard currently serves as CEO, Director of Research, and Chief Investment Officer at Athena. Dr. Howard is a Professor Emeritus at the Reiman School of Finance, Daniels College of Business, University of Denver, where for over 30 years he taught courses and published articles in the areas of investment management and international finance. He consulted with a number of firms, most recently First Data Corp and Janus Capital Group, and served for 10 years on the Board of Directors for AMG National Trust Bank N.A., a financial counseling and investment management firm headquartered in Denver. Dr. Howard received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho, his MS in Management Science from Oregon State University and his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Washington.

 

Steven L. Scheid

Steven L. Scheid

For the last 30 years, Steven L. Scheid has served as an executive in the finance, investment management and banking industries. He is chairman of the board of Janus Capital Group. Mr. Scheid has served as a director of the board since 2002 and served as Janus’ chief executive officer during 2004 and 2005. Prior to joining Janus’ Board in 2002, Mr. Scheid held executive roles at The Charles Schwab Corporation from 1996 until 2002, including vice chairman of The Charles Schwab Corporation, president of the Schwab Retail Group and a member of Schwab’s Executive Committee. Mr. Scheid was also the firm’s chief financial officer. Prior to joining Schwab, Mr. Scheid was an executive with Allied Bankshares, which was sold in 1988 to First Interstate Bancorp, one of the ten largest banks in the country. Mr. Scheid served as the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s representative on the Federal Advisory Council in Washington, D.C., which advised Alan Greenspan and the Federal Reserve System on economic, banking, and regulatory issues. Mr. Scheid has been featured in leading media outlets, including CNN, CNBC, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Business Week, Smart Money and CFO magazine. Mr. Scheid was recognized by CFO magazine as a finalist in their CFO of the Year Award for the risk management practices installed at Schwab. In 2011, Mr. Scheid was recognized as one of the 100 most influential Corporate Directors in the U.S. He is a member of the Blue Nile board of directors. He has served on the boards of Autodesk and PMI, both publicly traded companies. He previously served as a director on the New Century Chamber Orchestra in San Francisco, Requisite Technology, Inc., and the Depository Trust Company. Mr. Scheid earned a BS Accounting from Michigan State University and is a CPA.
